Poem inspired by Jr. Great Books story, "The Turquoise Horse"

Come, child.

Come hear the tale.

The tale of the gold-eared rabbit.

 

It was a winter day.

The children were out,

Laughing, and playing in the snow.

 

I looked beside me.

That’s when I saw it.

The gold-eared rabbit.

 

It twitched it’s nose and ran.

I followed.

It led me to a grand old theater.

 

Then I knew.

It was my life. My fate. My destiny.
