The Land I Lost
by Nuala S.
There was a dangerous jungle,
And a tall mountain side.
And sneaky thieves.
His wise grandmother,
Young inside but old in appearance.
The love of the Faithful One,
The wickedness of the Flatterer.
Her husband so weak and scholarly,
She hit the rascal so swift and clean.
She lied the perfect life,
which made dear Grandfather hidden inside.
A tree for each child,
Last meal of her life.
Her best dress so beautiful and graceful,
the ever-lasting sleep.
